Privacy, Data Protection and Intellectual Property

This addendum supplements the Organisation's Privacy Policy (Data Protection Policy) and applies to all Final Pixel Academy courses, workshops, online resources and memberships.
 

1. Learner Data Protection

Personal data collected from anyone who purchases or enrols in Academy courses (names, email addresses, contact details, portfolios) shall be processed in accordance with the DPP and retained only for course delivery, learner support, community engagement, and assessment purposes.

Learner work, assignments and portfolio materials shall not be shared, published, or used for purposes beyond course evaluation and archive without the learner's explicit written consent.

Where the Organisation uses third-party AI tools or platforms in its courses, learners shall be informed and their consent obtained before any personal data or work samples are submitted to those platforms. Learners are responsible for reading and accepting the third-party provider's privacy terms.
 

2. Course Materials Are Proprietary

All course content, methodology, teaching materials, video recordings, scripts, technical specifications and supporting resources are the intellectual property of Final Pixel.

Course materials are licensed to learners who have purchased or enrolled. Learners may not:

• Share, distribute, republish or resell course materials (including videos, PDFs, screenshots, notes or links)

• Upload materials to file-sharing platforms, social media, course forums or communities without permission

• Teach or reproduce the Organisation's proprietary methodology or course content in a commercial or formal educational setting

• Use course materials to compete with or undermine the Organisation's business
 

3. Course Content and Professional Judgment

Academy courses teach what the Organisation believes to be true based on current professional understanding and industry experience. This understanding is not fixed; it reflects best practice as the Organisation understands it at the time of instruction.

Course content is updated regularly as technology, methodology and industry practice evolve. Learners should understand that course materials represent a professional perspective at a point in time, not unchanging fact.

Learners are responsible for staying informed about developments in their field. The Organisation does not guarantee course content will remain current or applicable in perpetuity.
 

4. Monitoring and Enforcement

The Organisation monitors for unauthorised use of course materials and proprietary methodology across public platforms, social media, competitor offerings and course-sharing sites.

Where unauthorised use is identified, the Organisation will:

• Issue a direct cease-and-desist notice requesting removal or correction

• File takedown requests with hosting platforms or course providers

• Escalate to legal action for persistent or commercial misuse
 

5. Partnership Agreements

Where the Organisation shares course materials or methodology with partner organisations (including universities, studios or training providers), shared IP shall be governed by a written agreement specifying ownership, permitted uses, restrictions, penalties for breach of agreement and any revenue share.

The Organisation retains the right to audit partner compliance with agreed usage terms on an annual basis.
 

6. Learner Responsibility

By purchasing or enrolling in any Final Pixel Academy course, learners agree to respect the intellectual property rights of the Organisation and the confidentiality of course materials. Any breach of this agreement may result in termination of access and may lead to legal action.

 

All payments, refunds and royalties for the courses are administered by Teachable. Final Pixel does not store any customer banking or financial information in relation to the courses. As such, it is the responsibility of learners to review Teachable’s own policies in regards to the storage of their financial data.
